Primarily we provide a range of Social Support services directed towards meeting our clients’ need for social contact and/or accompaniment in order to participate in community life.
What do we do?
The services we provide:
- SOCIAL SUPPORT to alleviate social isolation, enhance quality of life and assist clients to participate in community life.
- TRANSPORT to medical or other essential appointments for people
who are unable to use regular transport.
- SHOPPING - transport is provided and, if necessary, the
client is helped at the shops or shopping can be done with a list.
- COMPANIONSHIP to maintain social contact.
- INFORMATION on other services.
- REFERRAL to other services if requested.
All services are provided on an individual basis.
Who is eligible?
Before commencement of service clients are assessed for eligibility
according to the Home and Community Care (HACC) guidelines.
The service is to help clients to live an independent life and
remain in their own home, ie in a self-care situation. We are unable
to assist people who live in a hostel or nursing home.
Pennant Hills Neighbour Aid can only assist clients who live in
a designated area encompassing Cheltenham, Beecroft, West Pennant
Hills, Cherrybrook, Pennant Hills, Thornleigh and neighbouring areas, within Hornsby Shire Council area.
