Bookings, Enquiries and Cancellations
All requests for service are made by phoning the office. Please
call as soon as possible as assistance depends on the availability
of a volunteer. Drivers may not be available at short notice. Please
do not ask the volunteer to do extra jobs.
Inform the office as soon as possible if:
- An appointment is cancelled or changed.
- You are not comfortable with a particular volunteer. Our assistance
will not stop if you desire a change.
- Your needs have changed.
Cost of the Service
Our volunteers give their time freely but we ask you to give a
contribution to help defray petrol costs. A scale of fees between
$7 and $20 operates according to the distance travelled. Payment
is given to the volunteer at the time of transportation and a receipt
will be provided for you. If you feel that you are not in a position
to make a contribution, please phone the Co-ordinator and discuss
your situation with her. No one is refused service on financial
grounds.
Office Hours
The office is staffed by the Coordinator, Administration Assistant and volunteers between the hours of
9.00 am to 1.00 pm Monday to Friday.
An answering machine is available for messages outside these hours. Please leave your name, phone number and a message if you phone outside the office hours and your call will be returned as soon as possible.
The Management Committee
The Management Committee is elected annually and all our members
are from the local community who have volunteered their time to
assist this organisation.
Interpreter Service:
If you need to communicate with us in another language there is a service that can help. The Telephone Interpreter Service, Department of Immigration and Multicultural Affairs, Phone No: 131 450 (24 hours a day, 7 days a week) - At the cost of a local call.
